Bricks & Mortar

August 18, 2017

Well, this post is late, but I just got my shit together and started this blog. And this post really is a good place to start.

....SO here it goes....

My BFF Allison Mckeen (a.k.a Shmall Pal) and I collaborated on an exhibit at a kick-ass little gallery in downtown Gardiner called Monkitree, Owned by the dazzling Clare Marron.

Allison and I often venture through Maine together to view the landscapes, architecture and the work of local artists (the best are always found in unlikely places). We wanted to form a body of work that focused on our favorite aspects of these trips: historical buildings, beautiful landscapes, and Maine's small creative businesses. As the town of our first meeting and the central hub of many of our activities, we wanted to pay homage to the historical town of Gardiner and community of artists that now call it home.

My ties to Gardiner have allowed me to pursue my art career through the kindness of local artists and galleries who have opened their doors to me and my work. The history of Gardiner holds importance in my eyes as a town breathing new life with growing businesses and creative minds who see the beauty in historic preservation.

You may have missed our opening on August 2, 2017. But the show is up through the end of September. If you are in the central Maine area this summer, I implore you to make a visit.
